I dream of swimming through brightly colored forests of coral

breathing in fresh mountain air with my children in the fall

but the world’s addiction to cheap coal

will bleach the coral forests and pollute the air for us all

by 2040, I’ll be 45

will I have to fight for clean air

just so my children can breathe and survive?

future generations will vilify politicians today who did not care

by withdrawing from the accord

they are part of the problem, not the solution.
